Episode 29 – Candice Callins

I met Candice through my manager Matt Chassin. We met at a horror festival down in San Diego and the first she said to me was 'I want to die in a horror film; and I want to die in a blaze of glory.' So I said...done! I used her likeness in one of my horror shorts for Horror House but her awesome film is coming soon so stay tuned. In the meantime, listen to us yuck it up, with guest host Richard Trejo. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2hRRI5jnBgAe1srqdUSB5D Mimosas with Michael on Spotify https://youtu.be/RcrvszGB2t4 Mimosas with Michael on YouTube BIO: Candice Callins is an actress, writer and producer, most known for her role in My Crazy Ex on Lifetime. Interview 17 – Javier Puga

I have lost too many loved ones in my life to cancer. Cancer fucking sucks. Even when I go to the hospital to get my phlebotomies for my Hemochromatosis I sit among cancer patients - and I talk to them, listen to their stories.  They are all so brave. That is why I wanted to share the story of my long time friend and former roommate Javier Puga, a survivor of prostate cancer. BIO: I am the face of Prostate Cancer. My name is Javier Puga and I am a Realtor with Engel & Völkers in Beverly Hills. I represent Sellers and Buyers on LA’s Westside, West Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills. I wanted to use a difficult situation that I went through to help other men who might feel they are too young or too healthy to be stricken with Prostate Cancer. I am 39 years old and I work out regularly, I ...

Texas Frightmare Weekend

I had the chance to attend the Texas Frightmare Weekend this month in Dallas, Texas, May 3-7, 2018. It was my first time attending this particular convention. It is actually my first time attending any convention out of town - and for an entire weekend. I went with my cousin Daryl, horror YouTuber Mr. Meat Hook (past blog guest) because he wanted to meet his fellow horror YouTubers - and I really thought it would be fun to attend a new event.  So we bought our tickets...and we went! The event takes place at the Hyatt Regency literally attached to the DFW Airport in Dallas, Texas. So that made it easy, especially if you fly American. You just walk through the tunnel in the parking garage and VOILA you are there! And since we were staying at the same hotel as the convention that best thing...

YouTube Channel

So one of my goals for 2018 is to grow the YouTube page for the podcast. I do upload each podcast to SoundCloud - and sub sequentially link it to the website so you can see all the links and pictures of each guest; however, I do also upload it to YouTube to help bring in a younger audience - with the hopes of creating a larger listenership. Plus YouTube is a different platform and I want the podcasts and videos to be available. Recently, with the podcast, I have been attending more conventions and screenings and premieres and have been putting together fun videos. (Okay, well I think they are fun anyways.)  Between our social media - Twitter and Instagram - and those that follow our posts might not be aware that there is more fun content on our YouTube page, so I wanted to direct you over...

Interview 7 – Taylor J. Martin

This week I present to you my dear friend and producing partner Taylor J. Martin! 1. Who is Taylor J. Martin the man? Well, I would say that I am a man who is consciously present. I love meeting new people, I love seeing new places, and I love the simple things in life. Half of me is warm, kind, care-free, understanding and forgiving, and the other half of me is focused, logistical, persistent and pursuant. Win me over with great food, great sunsets and great company. 2. Who is Taylor J. Martin the filmmaker? I love everything filmmaking. The challenges, struggles, and failures to the accomplishments, achievements and successes. I love bringing together a team in making a story come to life. I love seeing how a story can influence and effect an audience. I love the emotion that is evoked ...

Interview 6 – Granison Crawford

Wanted to introduce you this week to actor and comedian and a dear acquaintance of mine Granison Crawford. I had the opportunity to direct Granison in a very sweet and poignant short film I wrote called The Purpose of Apples. When he isn't acting he is doing stand up comedy - and he took a moment away from his routine to stop by and talk with us. 1. Tell me a little about Granison Crawford, the stand-up comedian? I was adopted, or as I like to call it, “chosen” at five years old, and raised with my sister by a single mom in Oakland California. Growing up I was into comic books, soccer, video games, and Dungeons & Dragons. In school I was always the class clown, so I spent most of my time in detention for making the teachers and my classmates laugh. As a comedian I like to break down my...

Reasons to be thankful (2017)

The holidays are fast approaching. Our listeners reach out to us and tell us what they are most thankful for. So grab a mimosa and toast to your life - and your successes - and be thankful. Mattie Cooper: Denise Gossett: Veronica Kuznets (@admrlackbarsbae) tweets: I'm thankful for my family first and foremost. They don't have to be blood related or human. I'm also thankful for my true blue friends and that I have a job right now. #ThankfulFor
