Episode 30 – Friday the 13th

On October 13, 2017 my previous podcast, When Straight Meets Gay, launched an hour long episode with a few of the creators of the original Friday the 13th: Victor Miller, the writer; Harry Manfredini, the composer; and Adrienne King as Alice. Even though the podcast is no longer available I kept the recording. I love this interview. We had the best time - it was great to interview them with co-host Richard Trejo. I hope you enjoy this interview as Mimosas With Michael presents the When Straight Meets Gay Podcast interview of Friday the 13th. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2RoaAJ4FKK7WjELt4Myxhy Mimosas with Michael on Spotify https://youtu.be/EnMPXaCqYyg Mimosas with Michael on YouTube

Interview 13 – Friday the 13th

For this Friday the 13th of 2018 I asked my writing partner Brantley J Brown to help me come up with some questions to ask the team of the largest horror franchise of all time: Friday the 13th. We came up with 5 questions. Why do you think the Friday the 13th franchise became so iconic. What does the character of Jason Voorhees symbolize for you? How would you compare the horror films of the day to those, say, from the 70s & 80s Speaking of Friday the 13th, are you superstitious? What scares you the most? Here are their answers: Victor Miller, writer, the original Friday the 13th Writing, direction, special effects and music——talk about synergy! Remove any one of them and you’re left with who knows… Jason was always a victim. He was a freak of nature, derided and lost. Ki...

Interview 2 – Brantley J. Brown

For my second interview I wanted to introduce my good friend Brantley. I am always admired by anyone who drops everything to move across country to follow their dreams. I know it isn't easy - and I know that fear can be debilitating; often times keeping people from pursuing the one thing that makes them happy. So meet Brantley J. Brown: 1. So what made you pick up everything from Tennessee and move to Southern California? I think that a lot of people, at some point in their life, stop and have a moment of reflection. They evaluate everything they've done and accomplished. Some find they are right where they want to be, and some find that they still have so much left in this world to do. I definitely am one who found that I hadn't done nearly a fraction of things that I wanted to do in my l...
