Episode 37 – Eileen Dietz

I met Eileen about 4 years ago (around my 40th Birthday) on a film we did. I literally flew in from Costa Rica - celebrating my birthday - and she was an actress on the film Pale Horse. With our love of horror we bonded quickly and became fast friends. In fact, to this day we still talk and hang out. I am grateful to her as both an actress and a friend. https://open.spotify.com/episode/0o08jphlcs5JHE1O0aMK7J Mimosas with Michael on Spotify BIO: Eileen Dietz was born in New York City along with a twin sister, named Marianne. Gateway – the series

My friend Michael Prieto with gambitONE studios just launched a new trailer for his series called GATEWAY. I have directed a few projects for gambitONE before and saw this trailer and loved it. We took a moment to talk to Michael about this new project. Gateway, is a series, created and directed by Michael Prieto.  The pilot is in production but they are  currently in talks with two (2) different networks  (we are definitely excited about that news!) The inspiration for Gateway came from past experiences and of wanting to tell a story about a broken person who risks everything to know their truth only to find a truth they didn't want to hear. The projected date is summer of 2019. So keep an eye out...and check out the trailer below: https://www.facebook.com/gatewayseries/videos/272778390...

Pay Equity Study at IA Local 871

The film union, IATSE Local 871, did a pay equity study earlier this year that was just released, showing how female dominated positions within the film industry are paid less on average - because they are female! In this politically charged climate, it is important to understand the value of each person. It is important to understand the value of everyone no matter of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. When comes to the work place, qualified recipients come in all kinds of packages - and having a bias means you are losing out on valuable workers. I am part of this union, made of up script supervisors (continuity), production accountants, production office coordinators, assistant production office coordinators, art department coordinators, teleprompters, and recently script coo...

YouTube Channel

So one of my goals for 2018 is to grow the YouTube page for the podcast. I do upload each podcast to SoundCloud - and sub sequentially link it to the website so you can see all the links and pictures of each guest; however, I do also upload it to YouTube to help bring in a younger audience - with the hopes of creating a larger listenership. Plus YouTube is a different platform and I want the podcasts and videos to be available. Recently, with the podcast, I have been attending more conventions and screenings and premieres and have been putting together fun videos. (Okay, well I think they are fun anyways.)  Between our social media - Twitter and Instagram - and those that follow our posts might not be aware that there is more fun content on our YouTube page, so I wanted to direct you over...

Interview 15 – Ashley Cordelia

This week we talk to actress and singer Ashely Cordelia about her new film and her new album! 1. Tell us about the film MERMAID DOWN? MERMAID DOWN is about a mermaid who gets ripped from the ocean, gets her tail chopped off and is thrown into a mental institution and no one believes she's a mermaid. I play a mental patient named Rebecca. 2.What drew you to the film MERMAID DOWN? Playing a mental patient is one role that was on my bucket list ever since I first watched ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST and GIRL, INTERRUPTED. 3. Can you tell us a little bit about your character? How did you find your inspiration? My character Rebecca is a phallically obsessed, young girl with deal-seated issues in this mental institution. I researched and pulled from my personal life to really bring Rebecca t...

Interview 8 – Erick Ramos

I am inspired by Erick Ramos. He is smart, handsome, talented, and never wants to stop learning - plus he is a fan of my work, so that is a big plus as well! He found on social media and would hit me up about the process of filmmaking...and from there we became good friends. Now we talk ALL the time! 1. When did you find your passion for film-making? I began like so many, at a young age. I can recall writing action stories like those of the Mission Impossible and James Bond series. However, like many of us, I also grew out of it and settled in the normality of life. 2. How did you begin? It wasn't until my late twenties that I found that passion within to really create film. A lot of that I owe to my dear friend Michael who I occasionally would talk with at any given time about film and th...

Interview 6 – Granison Crawford

Wanted to introduce you this week to actor and comedian and a dear acquaintance of mine Granison Crawford. I had the opportunity to direct Granison in a very sweet and poignant short film I wrote called The Purpose of Apples. When he isn't acting he is doing stand up comedy - and he took a moment away from his routine to stop by and talk with us. 1. Tell me a little about Granison Crawford, the stand-up comedian? I was adopted, or as I like to call it, “chosen” at five years old, and raised with my sister by a single mom in Oakland California. Growing up I was into comic books, soccer, video games, and Dungeons & Dragons. In school I was always the class clown, so I spent most of my time in detention for making the teachers and my classmates laugh. As a comedian I like to break down my...
